Genovese Nero

Probably my favorite variety in my collection. Not only the taste is awesome but who it came from and the history of this fig. Thanks to my friend in OH.
My wife and I gave it a 10. To quote my wife: VERY BERRY!

Looks great Art.  I already killed one:)  waiting on a second one soon lol

They look wonderful. A 10 by you and your wife is good enough for me. I'm putting that on my wish list. That is...as soon as I make a list.

Tony, This will be a good one to start in your GH.

Now we're thinking on the same wavelength!

Make me up a winter wish list. Your wife is going to hate me.

Congrats!  I only had one fruit last year and it was very good.

My first of the season is about two days from being ripe.

She's starting to hate me. So you won't be alone. Just kidding. She's actually on board. Forget about raccoons...it's her and the kids I have to watch out for.

Looks good, Art.

How do you think it compares to Violette de Bordeau?

Another nice fig Art, you have a good collection of the hard to get figs that have a good rep for flavor. Thanks for the info, love the 10s.

Bob, As much as I like VdB and it has a berry taste as well. GN has a very intense berry flavor.
The bad thing about GN in our climate is that you better give it an early start. VdB doesn't need it.

Art,

This one is a super classic Med fig
Congratulations

Francisco

Thanks Francisco. We are supposed to get some nice weather next week. I think they will get even better.

Also, I wanted to thank Rafed for passing this fig around.

Art,
Can you share the story and who it came from. I have a couple of these but there are still small. I will certainly try and protect the figs after this kind of rating. thx

Michael, The person who sent it to me got it from Rafed. I will PM you with my source. He doesn't post much on the forum but is a long time member.

Art, your popularity is soaring!

Very nice and tasty figs, thanks for sharing.

Best,

This is the best in yard this year. I can't believe how intense this berry tasting fig is.

I like tens

This fig is by far my best tasting fig that I have. The fig today was a 10+
To those growing GN can you compare your leaves with mine. I started to compare my GN with Black Madeira and Preto. They are kind of similar. But my GN is my tallest and biggest plant in my yard. I have three of them and they are all giant.
