Genovese Nero AF Breba 2016

These are some photos of my Genovese Nero AF Brebas. Excellent tasting figs. There has been some controversy over this fig in that that are several variations floating around. This one is the real AF.

Looks like a nice fig!
Does it lose that green neck if left long enough?

Looks really good.  Hope it tastes a good.

Pino, last year the neck had less green to it. Both figs in the photo were ripe and juicy. I did not want them to become over ripe and risk losing them to the birds.

schaplin, the taste is excellent. Very similar to Italian-258.

Very nice plant, Leon. I got a few last year from mine, and it's a favorite. I agree with you that it is similar to Italian 258. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Thank you Gary.

Thanks for sharing those, Leon. They look refreshingly delicious.
You certainly have the touch...I imagine this summer's heat must bring some challenges for you in AZ.
I had this one, and passed it along to a friend as I figured it to be a 'home run' variety which wouldn't have time to ripen here in my short season climate, now seeing it's breba crop I might have to reconsider!
I would be very interested in knowing your personal favorite breba producing fig varieties, judging by productivity, flavor, and size.

Those look beautiful, Leon.  Mine are coming along nicely.  Hoping to see figs next year.

Great looking figs, congrats! Do you notice a large difference in taste between the breba and main crop?

Mine had one breba but I accidentally knocked it off when I was moving in early May.  It has a good main crop developing though.  Thanks for posting the pics.

Very nice Leon, I like the fact that the eye is totally closed, and that they're full of honey.

The skin on the breba is much thicker but delicious. The main crop is exceptional. What a fig.

You're gonna need a bigger fig basket.   Congratulations!

Nas, you're right about the thickness of the skin on the brebas. Both the brebas and the main crop taste similar. I will post photos of the main crop when they become ripe.
