Genovese Nero getting ripe

My 1st Genovese Nero is swelling and turning color. I'll finally be able to compare fruit with Rob's IMG_3823.JPG  GN.

Another report I'm looking forward to. Thanks, Gary!

I guess I forgot to add to this post, so here is an update. Just harvested what I think will be my last GN of the season, though with how warm our days are still, who knows? This fig is all treat and no trick, truly one of the best. Sweet and syrupy, and a flavor all its own. Quite a healthy grower as well. Worth seeking out. IMG_4123.JPG

Looks great.  What's it sitting on that's glowing yellow?

oh wow
that is a beauty!!!
how does it compare to Robs type?

Bob, it's sitting on a small dessert plate:)
Hi Andreas, it is very different from Rob's GN. Here, the RGN makes great brebas, one of my favorites. The main crop is more an average fig, like Blackjack to me. Here is a photo of the RGN breba from June 24, 2015.

I did not get a breba crop from the GN, but the main crop is fabulous.

Beautiful fig Gary! That plate it's on is very nice, I love how everyone uses nice plate ware for their photos. I guess I'll have to invest in good plate for photos next year. :)
