I am on eBay right now that will be ending in 3hrs.

I waited since Spring 2012 (January) for this tree. Even on my Birthday. I had a couple struggles, but finally I have the funds to show for it. Deep pockets is mandatory. Wooh. But....I love everything about RdB, I even had fruits sent overnight once. Yummy. I am excited to see how it performs in Idaho.

So if the newbies are curious how much they would go for it goes from $100-$$$

Good luck!  I usually don't bid, if I really want something, until the last few seconds, but the downside of that is you have no clue what someone has put in as their maximum bid, and by the time you figure it out, they are taking no more bids.  Sigh!  Crossing my fingers for you!

I didn't even look to see what the price had gone to!  Wow!  I'm kinda with Barry on this one!  Love to see you win, but now that we all know how important it is to you, if you lose, you'll probably get tons of cuttings this fall!

Yep, I am. Drivewayfarmer, and Marius and the_celt were there for me. I didn't have money yet. I wanted one granted. But I just didn't want to string them along..so I had to cancel get one in July.

If the following:
Col de dame (noir, grise, blanc)

could grow well here I will pay for it, happily. But it doesn't, at least not in my climate. RdB versatility is more suitable for Idaho and greater survival rate in my zone. I know it's crazy $350.22. You lucky old dog! You got this 29 year old gal just in the right time. I love it.

I always wanted RdB. But once I win, what I really want to focus on are the international unknowns (Asia, Spain, Middleast, France, Italy, USA etc)

Well, this can be a good thing!  Now you have cash to spend on other cultivars you might take a fancy to, plus, we all feel so sad for your loss, we'll be knocking on your door with cuttings and maybe even baby plants!

If that tree was actually worth $350, I would have mine under lock and key.  There isn't a tree on the face of this earth worth more than $50.  There are far too many adaptable awesome tasting trees out there.

I noticed Herman's tree has two trunks.  I wonder if that's a trait of that cultivar because the one I got from Driveway Farmer has one big trunk, and a smaller baby trunk shooting up about an inch away from the main trunk.

I have an idea who might be at the top of my list for that baby!

Patience is your ally. Relax and wait- it will come to you.

I'm glad Herman is getting that kind of money. Cool. He deserves it.

But unless you are financially very comfortable, $365 is just too much to spend on any plant. Especially one that in a year or so is going to be more common. This fall many more cuttings will be taken from existing trees, and more plants started. I hope to get one myself. :)
