I have been enjoying the forum for a long while. You are in good company of so many good people (and good figs).

you're not missing much on TV, even the news is bad , in content and delivery.

i dont even watch tv anymore. its to upsetting. all you hear is bad news, they never report anything good and i know some good has to be out there. 10 min to get the weather then back on the pc. not even a month and over 300 post i spend some time on here myself.

I haven't "watched" the new on TV in many years, I get it on the radio or the web.

I love the weather from the web!  It's fairly accurate and the sites go 10 days out.

9 years ago we threw away our TV when it died. Then we cancelled the cable bill and never looked back. I do spend more time listening to NPR and on the computer but also a lot more time with the figs. Its a good life!

I don't have Dish anymore. Last spring the theater had a major electrical problem and it affected  a lot of people around here. I live 35 miles from the theater. I have decided I need a new house before I get Dish back. In the meantime, I can watch shows that I like online like PBS and a couple of other channels. I also have a subscription to an Old time radio website. I only get 2 radio stations where I live.

My big thrill was getting cuttings to root and then getting them on their way to become trees.
