Cold front moving in with record cold temp for May!!    I just took my trees out to the shade a couple of days ago - oh what to do - what to do!?!?

Down to the low 40's and maybe 30's!!!!!!! 

This is one crazy spring!!

My forecast was for nothing under 40 so I brought everything out, up potted to 7-10 gal and went out of town.  It's now predicted to get down to 32.  I'm hoping to get a neighbor to cover them for me.

Hopefully not the 30s for you.
Please dont send that to Illinois.

JoAnn, you guys in Texas have been having some weird weather! My nephew lives in Kady and the temps there have been 10 degrees cooler than Charlotte. Temps here at night will drop to the 40s but that's ok. My figs will stay outside and enjoy the chill.

I have the opposite problem, we are having 93F in the next 2 days. Need to hide my 1gal babies too.

Hey JoAnn. I plan to leave mine out. They are all in 2gal pots. Some just potted up last week. But the others have withstood 38 deg before.

I haven't up potted yet!  They are still in cups :(  I know, I am a neglectful fig parent lol.  The pup is taking up WAY more time then I thought!  I brought everything inside - including tomatoes and peppers - I don't want to take any chances ;)

By the way - it's been in the 70's - 80's the last few days - I think I'm going to need my winter coat for tomorrow night after work!
