Update.... this thing is STILL going.  Pic taken today after up-potting again.

Still one of my best and easiest to root.

What a beauty that little tree is.  Is that the Gino's tree?  Not quite sure I understood what it is.

Here is a pic of my Gino from last year.  Truly one of the best black figs around.

Viv, it is an unknown called "Gino's black". Grows like crazy!! Supposed to have superb figs and be very cold hardy. Maybe I will get figs next year....

I thought this was pretty cool.  I found another picture of this Gino, so you can watch it over a period of 16 months - notice the "thumb" stump of the cutting clearly in the first and last photos.  That stump is also seen in the 2nd and 3rd pictures if you look closely:

Dennis ,I agree with you:
This is the most dependable black fig I know,with taste and flavor comparable with other excellent tasting figs,but much more dependable in producing fruits in most climates.

These are bad pictures - I had to pick my only fruit that will mature full size from this tree because ants were devastating it.  The trunk is about 2" thick now.  There are a lot of pea-sized fruit still on it, some turning color.  This one didn't taste that great - needed about 3-4 more days minimum to finish ripening.  Ah well.  Maybe next year.

Too many so called "good " dark figs that i'm starting to thin out no need to start on that other color type you mention..

But I'm a fellow dark fig junkie that hates white figs!
