Gnats and fingernail poilsh

The other day I marked the top rims of cups containing special varieties to make them easy to spot in tubs.  I used cheap pink nail polish (strong smelling, Sally Hanson Hard as Nails) and put a few dabs on the rims of special cups. While doing that I found a couple cups with about a dozen gnats hanging around them. The tubs were left open. The next day the gnats were all gone and I put up yellow sticky stakes but still no sign of gnats.  It's been 3 days and not one gnat in sight.  It looks like the smell chased them away or killed them.
If anyone tries this I'm curious to know if it works for them.
Thanks, Soni.

Just hope their not on a 3 day high and they come back soon. :-) If it works my wife will get a new nail desk in the middle of my figs.

Soni - they are just out looking for nail polish - they want to be stylish

I will do my nails if it keeps the gnats away.   Cheap Pink looks good on me.

You guys are a riot.    Cheap pink for everyone.  What a visual image lol

I observed the same with the liquid electrical tape i used for sealing off the cuts. It smells badly and the bastards were away for a couple of days but came back eventually

How come I don't have gnads...they sound like gnomes...I'm jealous>:(

How about we send Aaron the official F4F gnat starter kit, it comes complete with a BT cutting, larvae and bottle of pink nail polish.

Cool! Aaron, what is your address? I can send 2!

Send to UcDavis, they'll give it to me and the rest of the US, LOL
