Good luck tonight, Figgies

My figs are staying outside tonight. There's no shot I am moving them again. This season is brutal! Good luck to everyone leaving them outside.

Jason...I was going back and forth all day trying to decide what to do...late afternoon I decided I have had enough of the fig shuffle...there staying outside tonight !!

I only moved my most valuable small plants. The big guys are on their own.

I moved all of the small stuff in, and the big pots against the house of against the hedges. and fence lines!

My figs are staying out. Forecast to be 42 with a feel like of 38. I will be bringing the veggies in cause last nights ”not as cold” temps wilted a few of the peppers.

Im also just bringing in the small plants , the big ones are on their own. Good luck.

I have no choice tonight. Low of 28 degrees forecast for up here. They're all inside. Big and small

I put what I could fit in my garage the rest I put under a sprinkler.

hey vito - how about your pvc shelter you had constructed?
isnt that a good solution from the cold?

Did Ok here in Edison last night...no frost   :)

Hi Eli
The tarp got shredded over the winter.
I tried the sprinkler last night and this morning the fig trees had icicles on them, but they looked OK. We will see when the sun hits them.

Ok here in coastal central NJ,
looks like it hit 41F overnight, tonight's low predicted to be upper 40s so hopefully done with the cold weather.

Looks like it will consistently be in the 50s for lows and 70/80s for highs from here on out.  The last of my grow light figs will be outside after tomorrow.  A couple weeks of diffused sunlight and I'm hoping to set them free after that.

The "Big Chill", still, in The Bronx, NYC!  It's time for the warmth to settle in and bathe my fig trees with Chlorophyllic inspirations.

What's with this weather?  I just sent three CON-ED executives on a Florida vacation with the profits from my heating bills!

Looks like I lucked out. We had temps right around freezing Mon and Tues night in Pittsburgh, but no discernable damage to my in-ground trees and the breba figs look good.

Last monday seemed the last frost day in VA.

Boo. I have leaf wilt on half of my trees. So now in addition to the slow and cool start of the season my plants are set back. I am hoping for a hot autumn.
