GOT MY USDA ORDER

I got my order in the last couple of days, and for some reason they had the order duplicate.so I have extra cuttings, that I am not gonna use .

Excel          =  0  cuttings
Dauphine     = 2 cuttings
UCR 284-11  = 3 cuttings
Armenian      = 0 cuttings

So I am looking for trades or cost of shipping, I will try to accommodate as much people as I could.
Best regards
Mark

Duplicates?  I didn't even get page 2 of my order, but I'll live :-))!  They sent me only one cutting of 2 that I really wanted.  All the rest, they sent 3 substantial cuttings which I cut in half to see what roots.

Page two had no figs.  Mostly Vitis Vinifera and other things.  Page 2 got lost in the shuffle, evidently.  There is always next year!!

They sent figs and olive cuttings.  Not worried about the figs, but the olives... they are toughies!!

I hope you get some good trades!!

the Only thing I get beside those was one VDB cutting, and one Black Maderia, I do not know If I want to trade that one, because I bought a couple of Black Maderia from Jon
I will cut those in Half, there fore I have four chances. My order was small they felt sorry so they duplicated it.that why I want to trade the excess cuttings, I am only gonna use one trey of root riot. space is limited this time.

Congratulations,  Mark. I am still waiting for mine.
BTW, April is almost here.

Black Madeira is really a hard fig to root!  I'll give it my best shot, but not confident at all!  Mine is too short to cut, so I got one chance!

I placed a late order and still got my shipment of two fig varieties today! :)  I got Verdal Longue and Calimyrna.  Come on wasp!  The Verdal Longue may be a fig that I remember from my childhood as ripening in winter.

congrats, mark. it's truly like christmas in march :)

FMD, I know, I think it gonna be toward the end of April weather permitting
I placed my order at october 31, after 11:00 pm, and my knowledge of Figs then, is Different than today, and I only got 5 Varieties, and I messed up the order so I did not think they gonna send it.

Definitely wash the cutting. AB soap using clean tooth brush. Soaking in 10% bleach is optional. I find cleaning once again about 2 week later after being in the baggie really get the nasty stuff off... but I'm too lazy.

Black Madeira wasn't too hard for me last spring. I ordered it again to see if that was beginners luck. I don't wait for the roots in baggie. Baggie is just first stage to get some sign that cutting will do something. Leaf, callus, root, anything. I wait for roots once they go into the cup. If no sign after 4 weeks in baggie, and if it's cutting I really wanted, it still goes into cup.

For me the hardest one was Marseilles White. In a baggie for 3 weeks - nothing, transferred to a cup, 2 more weeks in a humidity bin - nothing, no signs of life but the cutting didn't look dead and there no roots appearing. So, the last step was a cube. Imagine that a week after sitting in a cube covered by a plastic cup I saw a green tip staring to grow!!

thanks pete for the info, will try to wash it like you said
