Has any one grafted different types of figs on one tree. Like a brown turkey with black mission celest peters honey and kadota on it? I would like to try this since I have so many brown turkey trees and they seem to have a good sturdy root system and a strong trunk. I have never tried this before but I do have an apple tree with 4 kinds of apples on it. Just think it would be pretty cool to have that. Any input?

There are actually a few other threads on the topic that you can reference. Search for "graft" and "grafting" here and at the Gardenweb fig forum, you'll find a gaggle of info.
Celt thanks for revisiting this topic. I have room for only so many plants in the ground and wonder if by wedge grafting I can evaluate the cold hardiness of of my potted figs. Start with a fmv free cold hardy variety and graft a few different varieties onto it. If these tops die back hard no great loss but if they dont.... I think it has been mentioned here that a fmv scion would probably infect the host plant?
Dear guys,,,,As far as I know this is a grafting tool for grapes. Best way for winter-early spring apple top grafting is a whip graft, a cleft graft or a bark graft. To work the scion, a stanley knife will do just fine. thanks,,,
