Grafting a fig tree

We're going in with a knife   (T)

We're going in with the blade of the T-shape
20 days after the white band is taken

Good demonstration aliok1.
Thanks for posting it.

Yup, easy enough! Thanks for posting that. I wish I would have seen that a few weeks ago. I had to graft several varieties to a LSU Purple as a last ditch effort to save them. Most of them are very good varieties that folks are paying big money for too. Got my fingers crossed at least one of every variety make it. At that point I can air layer and have my seperate varieties but I will still leave nodes on them so I will have a back up Franken tree. I removed the bark and node as he did but cut out the exact dimention on the bark of my LSU Purple so all sides of the cambium are in contact. Also a few cleft grafts on tips that were saved from dying cuttings. Never say die!!!!!

Thank You for Posting, I have tried this grafting about 2 weeks ago. I covered mine with Saran Wrap (plastic) to keep the moisture in. Hopefully it didn't die and mold.

Aliok1,
Thanks for posting the video.
He makes it look so easy that I will have to give it a try in a few months.

can you do this (bud graft?) with dormant scion bud?

Can anyone translate? I'd like to know what he's saying there at the end. From the hand gestures it looks like "how far it should be below the first branch". And, he doesn't have it lined up with any other node's, is that important? How do you hold your mouth? Lots of important info I must be missing... it can't be that easy.

Hi Aliok  any info about grafting jujubes?

Greysmith,
google "bud grafting" and you will come up with several vidieo on this

Other video

In the first video, what a Sunday grafter !
One of the buds will grow to the inside of the tree, which should be avoided.
You should always graft to the outside of the tree IMHO .
