Grape Kool-Aid

Saw this on a different forum.

Someone else mentioned this on a thread a month back.

Weird-Whatever works!

Tried it on my grapes. The birds said "BURP!" Had to call in the netting anyway.

Very cool just need to find what works for squirrels.
And thinking of that I thought of chevy chase in christams vacation "where is eddy doesn't he eat these things? Not since he heard they are high in cholesterol!"

Celt,

Here's an answer to your question: LEAD!
I suggest a 45-70.

That'll get their attention

8 gauge too big?

Never heard of an 8ga.

Something I missed?

But I assume it is more powerful than a 10ga. and that's more powerful than a 12ga.

Nothing is too big.
Go ahead, make their day. Them Punks!
Do a Clint Eastwood on them.

I will try the Kool Aid deal my own self and see how it works.

I will do two sets, one for me ( to drink ) and one for the birds.

Haha yeah 8g is like an elephant gun. Them vermin will be splat!

FROM WIKIPEDIA:

Methyl anthranilate acts as a bird repellent. It is food-grade and can be used to protect corn, sunflowers, rice, fruit, and golf courses. Dimethyl anthranilate (DMA) has a similar effect. It is also used for the flavor of grape KoolAid.

Methyl anthranilate naturally occurs in the Concord grapes and other Vitis labrusca grapes or hybrids thereof, and in bergamot, black locust, champaca, gardenia, jasmine, lemon, mandarin, neroli, oranges, rue oil, strawberry, tuberose, wisteria, galangal and ylang ylang. It is also a primary component of the essential apple flavor, along with ethyl acetate and ethyl butyrate[2] . It is used for flavoring of candy, soft drinks (e.g. grape soda), gums, and drugs. It is also secreted by the musk glands of foxes and dogs, and lends a "sickly sweetness" to the smell of rotting flesh.

The birds found out how terrible artificial sweeteners and artificial food coloring is for their health.

I don't imagine the grape kool-aid would be effective on squirrels unless it's laced with cyanide.  Don't forget which is which, now.

noss

8 ga shotguns are generally for industrial uses.  Blowing stuff (build up) off kilns and big ovens so they don't have to shut down operations.  However with that being said the Brits still make and use 2, 4, 6, 8 ga shotguns on geese mainly.  They aren't cheap! And you better be prepared for RECOIL!

As for me - I'd use a punt gun!

OMG that reminds me of my BIL's wedding reception.  I was a 28 yo Redneck not too long from Texas,  The best man was a Redneck from TN - two completely different Rednecks but we made a good team.  Decided to wear our boots and belts with big buckles with our tuxes.  At the reception, he decided to dip and I decided to chew, and we both had our cowboy hats also.  So we stood out in the formal and polite crowd of a Wilmington Delaware wedding.  We had to do something - there was a four piece string ensemble of all things.  We knew they were worthless when they did not know Rocky Top or the Aggie War Hymn or anything by Willie, Waylon, Hank, Moe Bandy, etc.....So we decided we'd dance with all the females in the crowd.   Somehow I had gotten a spot of grease on the shoulder of my jacket.  During the course of the evening, I asked my SIL's aunt (from New Hampshire) to dance.  A really delightful sweet old gal - but with some spunk and fire in her.  About halfway through the dance, she noticed the spot of grease and mentioned it to me.  Without thinking, I said yep, it was some squirrel grease, the cleaners couldn't get out.  Without blinking an eye, the aunt said "Yep, I heard that you people eat those things down there in the South!"   That cracked me up and made my evening!

Watch out for double o. It packs a wallop! ( I should Know!)

After your done spraying, add some rum to whatever is left.
