Great Day At Tim's For Fall Fig Meeting in NJ

WOW. What a great and fun day at the NJ Fig Meeting at Tim Drag's house. Many thanks to Tim for his hospitality and for  letting us meet at his fantastic house. Kudos to Barry also for helping to put it together. Meeting a bunch of the forum members was terrific and putting a face to someone whose posts are always interesting was fabulous. It was so great meeting Bass, Georgi, Vic, both Tims, Donna, John, Marcus, Frank from the Bronx and the ever fascinating ASC Pete was awesome. The raffle was as much fun as it gets. Everyone brought plants to exchange and it was like being a kid in a candy shop. I picked up 9 new varieties and got a few exotics from Bass. All in all a totally great day.
Here are a couple of pictures of what the raffle looked like. No money was exchanged, and I know there are many of you who will be jealous looking at all these beautiful trees.

OMG that looks like s much fun! Do I see one plant that looks rather unfiggish and more pomegranateish?
I am so glad you guys had a blast!

Looks like I missed out being so close to home however this year I would have had nothing to trade. Maybe next year.

Yes Tami there were a couple different Pomegranates available and I was lucky enough to get 2 of them. Rich, no need to pass on the meeting if you have nothing for trade, there was way more than enough for everyone to take home a few new trees. Really a wonderful day! Nice meeting everyone!! Thanks Coop for my Dominic tree!

Adding a few shots of my own.  Sorry if some of these aren't rotated well...they look fine when I bring them up in an editor, oh well!

Had a good time today with everyone and came home with some very nice trees and having met some very kind and generous folks.  Tim and his wife were very gracious hosts and very kind to open up their home.  Plus, it was nice to see out my back window on the way home (those who helped me unload my car will know what I'm talking about)!

Count me as jealous!  Glad you all had a great time!

Coop,
It was a pleasure meeting you and and the other members and to get reacquainted with the members that I had met previously at Bass' in June. As usual the discussions were "interesting and though provoking". I will be trying Tim C's potting mix recipe in a few 5 gallon Pots. Thanks to Tim Drag and his wife for hosting an enjoyable day, and for all the Fig Fanatics that were present.

Tami,
There was also Paw Paw-ish stuff there as well.

Hi Coop

Looks like ya'll had a Blast! I'd love to have a meeting in Chattanooga one day! I'm so jealous.

Why is every pic of me with my mouth open?

Sounds like it was such a great time! Thanks for posting pics .

Looks like fun!!!

It was all an awesome fig event.

Good moment(s):
Everybody got to meet some old fig friends and more important; some/more NEW (former virtual-friends) other FF members.
It is good to put a face on FF users... Those name tags helped too.

Funniest moment:
There were tons of figs for the raffle. Every one was scurrying around, reading labels quickly deciding which/what one (?!?) to best pick when his/her name comes up next...

Cutest moment:
Happy Drag baby boy was very well behaved, mostly on Michelle's lap.
Suddenly he was set go loose on the lawn grass (well protected in some kind of a jump suit).
You should have seen him fast-crawling on-all-fours around the yard 'discovering/inspecting' things around!
He reminded me of one of those old fashioned wind-me-up baby tin-toys... Veeery cute!!

Funny/Cute:
Tim's dog knows to eat/scrape pieces of a hamburger right-off a fork from my hand!

Food:
Delicious and abundant; how much can one eat? Same for the deserts....

Thank you both Tim & Michelle for going through all the trouble HOSTING this successful event.
