Went on a Road trip Sat to pick up a new fig tree and found lots of new figs. My freind down the street Grand papa had a farm in the Sunset Opelousas LA area were he grafted trees and gave away and planted his family fig tree going 100S of years It is still their it was being supported by 2X4 and 4X4 under some of the branches because of the weight. I am having her tell her family story and we are naming the tree after him it is a Celeste sugar fig and a lot of trees in that area our off this tree planted and gave away by him. I am going back this fall to cut and prune this tree for the new owner and will be giving away cuttings this fall. We also found a Honey fig that I need help on the I D it was a Old big tree the house was up for sale. It was a med to large Green skin fig with a honey inside have not seen this before. and found lots of other tree and took lots of cutting from them what A great Day and Free . Here are the pics below please help I D the Honey Fig Thanks Joe Celeste Celeste Celeste These are all different trees
I really enjoy hearing stories about old trees. Unfortunately, they are becoming scarce as family plots get sold off to someone with nothing vested in the memories, or development inexorably knocks them down. Cherish the moments.
