A friend of mine [20+ years] is now working in Ypsilanti [Eastern Michigan U] and lives nearby. He has seen some of my fig pictures and is getting inspired to try it. In addition to my encouraging him to go to websites like this, is there someone in the greater Detroit metro area whose garden/greenhouse he can check out some time during the growing season?

I'm just outside the city limits of Detroit.  I live in Saint Clair Shores.  I don't have a greenhouse, but I'd be happy to have a visitor, if he's willing to wait until school lets out and I have the time.  I've got 1 fig in the ground (which will likely change this or next year) and too many to admit to in pots ranging from 1 to 20 gal.  I also grow other things besides figs.

Rafed isn't too far from me, further to the West and Rob lives more to the North.

Great, thanks. I am waiting to hear back from him. I am sure that waiting until things slow down wouldn't be a problem for him...he's a teacher and is certainly in the same boat.

He's about an hour and some change away from me.
We can set it up for early July when the garden is in full bloom.
