Greenhouse figs

I am going to leave a 2 year old Malta Black fig tree in my greenhouse to see if it can survive the heat along with my citrus. It will be 95-115 degrees( maybe more) in there during the summer. Anybody have experience with this? I would like to leave my late and slow ripening figs in there all year but I am afraid they'll get cooked in there. Plus when I move them out they get sunburned.

I'm very interested to see the outcome. I hope to have a greenhouse in the next few years.

If you have figs ripening in high heat, watch out for souring, I have tasted figs in a greenhouse that ripened at around 100 they were good, but some soured when it got humid, maybe just the variety.

Yes I have left 15 of my trees in the greenhouse last summer.  I saw the temp go above 110 many days.  All I had to do was water everyday and they grew like weeds.  One cutting went from 3 inches to 4 feet 10 inches by the end of summer.  I presently have three cuttings in 1 gallon containers and they are doing just fine.  Thus far I have only seen the temp reach 100 degrees.  Just keep them watered.

Good points Chivas for newbie like me with GH. Thanks..

7deuce -- you can invest on automatic vent arms. I think Costco on line sell
them for $60. I am putting Blk Maderia & some late varieties in GH too.

Kubota- I will post the results

Chivas- I'm in NJ so humidity inside or outside the greenhouse is unavoidable.

Rhopkins- just what I wanted to hear. I have some trees in fabric pots and some in plastic. I think I am going to stick a few more in the greenhouse for comparison.

PAULLY- I have 4 automatic roof vents windows and a thermostat controlled exhaust fan and HAF fan. Without shade cloth I think I will be in the 95- 115 degree range.

The central valley of CA spends a fair amount of time in the 95 degree zone and a few days close to 110 in summer.  Probably not as much humidity as your greenhouse, though.
