Nice site.  Funny story about orchid snob (maybe 'cause it hit close to home). Love the picture of the Melanzana. How does it taste?

Hoosier thats a nice link for many to read as the fella keeps things short and simple and perhaps eases things for the beginner as he states basically fig trees can take punishment even if your thumb is not green .

 does any one know if the Melanzana fig on one of his pages have that banana shape naturally  or is it a fluke? 

If you look at the images exemplifying Melanzana on Jon's varietal page http://figs4fun.com/Thumbnail_Melanzana.html you don't see that shape, not that it can't be a variant.

I think we forget that sometimes Martin, my first trees underwent lots of neglect and mistreatment (before I was a member here) and most made it long enough for me to improve their situations.
