I want to get a White Genoa fig but before I do, I want to know if any growers down south have this fig. If so how does it does perform? We are now in zone 8a and the past 2 days, we've had 104 degree temperatures.  I would hate to get a fig and it not do well here.  Thank you in advance.

I have a White Genoa going into it's second year. It has not produced yet but it did make it through the legendary last summer better than several others here in Central Texas which makes it about as tough as can be. Our summers are bigger here too...

Thanks Landscapewitch!  From what I hear, White Genoa is a heirloom fig.  I thought I had one but can't seem to find it at the moment.  I have an opportunity to get another but wanted to know how it preforms down south.  I've got 3 or 4 unknows in huge pots thanks to the squirrels for removing my tags.  Now, I'm triple tagging my trees!  You don't hear too much on this forum about White Genoa, kinda like Early Violet.

Dennis, just for certainty on ID (ahem...) I got the plant from Joe Morle and he calls it a White Genoa.

I got some White Genoa cuttings in a trade for VdB with Daydreamfigs, and I'm really excited about this one!  Heirloom?  Can't wait to see how they do in Southern California!  Just received 4 cuttings last night.  They are in the dark in their sphagnum baggies, and I probably won't peek for a few days. 

Who can tell me about this variety?  Brebas? Ripens early, mid, late?  I assume the interior is white, and the outside green?  Also flavor.  Hints of anything?  Honey?  Berry?  Champagne?....... well it is Thanksgiving!!

I love my WG. The summers here get up to 108. As long as my WG isnt underwatered, she performs well.
