Guess

This fig came to me in 2012 as a Barnisotte Noire but looks nothing like my other Barnisotte Noire
which it looks just like pics of Barnisotte Noire that I have found. To me, it looks and taste just like
my Thibodeaux. Open for guesses.

thanks for sharing...no clue...
but there was no grading this time...how did it taste
Mark

Mark, I did not grade it as usual because I don't know what it is at this point. I would probably give it a 7.

Is it worth it for others to grow? Is it young with a 7 and maybe get better in time. Even the mislabeled could turn out to be keepers and you may never know what it is with 100% certainty. Hopefully one of these days we will have an inexpensive way too label the correct variety. Hopefully.. It looks good.

Congrats on your new Brown Turkey.

Other (slight) possibility is a low quality Mission.

That's heartless, Jon  :)  Would  BT be a 7?

It doesn't taste like any BT I have ever eaten.

Hi pitangadiego,
Not a standard BT brebas or the inside would be more redish. Check my post on Brownturkey breba :P .
Which strain of BT do you think of ?

@Newnandwag : Barnisotte Noire could be another name for a better known (by the name) one here:  Bourjassotte Noire. This strain has been first described in 1651 ! Fig ripening in September . Big tree not suitable for a small garden ?!? Why me, why me ?!?..

If so then your fig's shape is not true to BN .
And I could agree that it is more like a "Black Mission" or an unknown .
Who will be coated with feathers and tar, this time :P ?
