Handling dormant cuttings

Greetings, I tried searching but the search engine doesn't seem to like my question... I am sending someone some cutting from my tree which is now dormant, how differently do I handle them? I normally wold clean them and then wrap them in a slightly damp paper towel and then wrap them in seranwrap.
Do I just do the same or do i need to worry as much about keeping them moist?

Normally I clean them, dry out the surface moisture and then wrap them airtight in seran-wrap.

I have in the recent past received the same way from others too.

That's how most of us do it.  I used slightly damp newspaper, then wrap with saran wrap.  I had heard the ink in the newspaper helps fight mold.

GRamaley,
Dormant cuttings do not require any additional moisture for storage or shipping.
Excess moisture may contribute to molding prematurely, if storage temperatures are too warm.
Sealing the cut ends and storing with a small amount of Dessicant (I use 1-2 tablespoons of dry shredded long fibered sphagnum moss per 1 gallon storage bags) has resulted in a very high viability rate in my experience (over 98%). Also IMO, washing is not necessary for storage.
Good Luck.

Thank you!!
