Well, I missed the actual event by about 16 hours, but Happy Winter Solstice 2014 everyone!! 
  For those of you in the northern hemisphere, you'll notice the days getting longer and longer as we move toward the warmth of spring. Wahoo!
  To those of you in the southern hemisphere, I hope your growing season is going great!
  To those of you in warmer climates whose fig trees haven't even gone dormant yet and are still producing -- I am jealous, and Happy Winter Solstice 2014 to you, too ;-)
