Hardy Chicago and Unknowns..Motherload

What a great day! All dark figs and all delicious. I can't say which was better because as soon as I ate one, I liked the next just as much.

Oh yeah !

I have only picked a few hardy chicago figs thus far this year. I am hoping that the others ripen up before the weather goes south.

Fantastic Art ! Really great UNK's . Enjoy !!

you are so lucky. i've had a total of 2. thanks for the pics.

Beautiful!! I hope I have this many next year from my tiny trees started this year!
But.. I had one VdB, it looked super attractive. A bird got it, I got the bird :D
Should I post what I think was a fig at some point ??? :)
I think it is partially digested though.

Art, a very nice looking meal. LOL

Art, It looks like the un-know are doing the best. Sound like they are all keepers. How old are the trees? Thank for the pic.

Congratulations.  Richly deserved!

Thanks everybody for all the comments.

Bugs, The HC plants are at least two years old.
The Canton, OH and Dicerbo are taller than me and I'm 6'4". I don't know how old they are.
The others were started this winter.
I will get you starts from them.

Thanks Art, they all look real tasty. Started to weed out today. NO figs NO taste your gone. To many good ones out there.

Thats amazing and so early for our climate in the northeast too. Mine are just starting to ripen up and you have tons of them already. They look yummy!

Looks like a good time to try a fig shake!

Art,

Simply smashing! So glad you could get that Canton fig, too.

Frank, That's funny that you said that. I just said that to my wife. We should try something other than eating fresh figs. I suggested a fig smoothie. I've never had that many figs at one time.

Dale, Glad you caught that. I will get you a few cuttings, one of these days.

Art,
What a nice harvest! You give me hope for next year's harvest, as I'm in the same zone. I'm also only about an hour from Canton. I must know more about this Canton fig ;-)

Looks good Art. Try making a fig pizza, fig smoothie or just enjoy them the way they are or better yet dip them in chocolate and sprinkle them with nuts.

Jeff,
If I can get figs, then anybody can. I live about 1/2 hour from Ohio.
I found the Canton, Oh fig on Craigslist. It was about an hour and a half drive to Canton, Oh. The only thing I know about it was the guy who was selling the trees got the original start from his Grandfather.

Tony, I will let Amy know what you said. Fig pizza sounds good. The only thing 3/4 of those figs were gone in 10 min.
