Hardy Chicago 2 years old tree main crop. impeccable in every standard.
fast grow, strong, incredible yield ability(almost miracle), sweetness and flavor.
I think HC is a touchstone.
only 1 weakness is.. too much birds attack. ㅠ_ㅠ

Hi Lee thanks for posting pictures.I must ask since you like so much is this one from scionwood i sent or from someone else.
Hi Martin I have a 2 HC. 1 is from your yards, and 2 is from Marius.is there any difference?I'll add some compare picture in a few days. thanks:-)
Very nice pics. Thanks for sharing
Lee there may or may not be a difference as i see there are more than one strain of figs in general on forum like Celeste etc.
Great photos Lee . Now that is a perfectly ripe fig . I agree , I only picked a couple figs from a young HC last year , and found the flavor to be excellent , John
I don't know how to handle this problem.
In Korea, magpie( Pica pica sericea GOULD ) spoil everything.
ruin apple, pear, persimmon, apricot, plum and now my Figs..:-)!!
Was that from birds ?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_MagpieBirds version of winged monkeys in OZ.
Organza bags might stop that magpie . On ebay there are different sizes and amounts to buy. Here's a listing for one size 4x6" # 400232295883 Could be time consuming for all your fruits , but could ensure you get at least some of the fruit!
Lee i have heard netting over trees help .
i think netting is the way to go. i've used it on bushes. sometimes birds get trapped, but that just means the kitty has a nice meal.the cat i had before learned about birds in nets quick and hung around the netted plants, since she prefered birds to cat food.
Years ago, I've shared fig scions with my friends.
This HC(from martins, Thank you) took root(literally) in Chuncheon.
Though it's pot is poor..haha now this HC looks very happy:-)
Lee i'm happy to see update of Hardy Chicago from my yard thousands of miles away !Thanks.
