Hardyness hedge

I am doing a hedge and would like to keep the figs going in that hedge as close to the same hardyness as possible. first hedge

MvsB
Sal's G
Sal's C
RdB
VdB
Hardy chicago

Would these work well together if so or not why.

the hedge will get full sun and runs north to south on the east side of my grounds.

Any help sugestions, or critisium wlcome

Dave

hey dave , hope the hedge turns out for you.

Alright the first hedge is planted. 3 MvsB 1 Sal's G 2 RdB and 1 hardy chicago. I am hoping that with winter protection for three years the hedge will survive later years unprotected. A hardyness test to say.

Dave...if your looking for cold hardy fig trees. then a couple of future candidates might be LaRadek's English Brown Turkey, and Bayenfeige Violette...both of these are supposed to be super cold hardy, although somewhat hard to find...good luck with the hedge.

You might want to re-think putting in VdB as it is not so cold-hardy from what I have heard.

Steve

My VdB doesn't like afternoon sun but it could be the location and the intensity of the sun.

my VdB droops every afternoon.. unless i water it daily. having drip system helps. but i'm cutting down on water this year to see if i can get more intense figs.

I have decided to put my two VdB back in the orchard area should be better protected. And easier.

Nordland should work outside.

Been looking for norland, raintree had them in the off season but now I can't find it anywhere, plant or cuttings.
