I've been to this nursery a few times. Everything they sell is very expensive and I don't believe they are very honest in some of the things they describe. I bought a pomegranate from them once and suspected it was dead since it was late to leaf out. I was assured that was not the case and was promised by the owner (through another customer who acted as a translator) that he'd replace it with two trees if it died. It never grew and I had to really hassle them to get the tree replaced. Further, they later described this variety in their catalog as winning a pom tasting contest at UC Davis (USDA/Wolfskill). I was present when they drove up and delivered some fruit and it was tasted and was pretty good but certainly never received top marks from anybody in attendance nor was their any announcement of any first place winner. A few months ago I visited with a Persian doctor who loves figs and I asked him what he thought at PARS. He said they are crooks and that everybody knows to stay away from them.
