Have you uncovered your trees

The weather warmed up enough to uncover the trees, but I didn't want to take a chance yet and uncover all of them, I did remove the wrapping on couple of my trees.
Just checked our forecast, it should remain above freezing for the next week, and on Friday will be hitting 65°.

Warming up quick here on the West Coast. Outside trees like Latarrula, Large Dark Greek etc showing many
brebas. Took out about 15 trees from garage, more to be taken out today. Getting lots of rain. Other outside
fruit trees showing lots of bud movements are Blueberries, Red Currants, Asian Pears & Plums.

Weather around here has been in the mid 70's

Planted 12 in-ground Figs yesterday and the day before

still a foot of snow on the ground here
checked my stored trees last night, buds are starting to swell.
and a few breba forming

The severe wind storm did damage to a few of my trees and unwrapped a couple so last week they all were unwrapped. Just keeping an eye on the new growth and the frost warnings now. I have all my tarps and blankets at the ready.

Night temps still dropping below freezing here in CT. Too cold yet to put mine
outside. Berrr!

I may not uncover them to feel better for a while more because I am afraid mice might have chewen them!

What can I say: paradise here. 69F, sunny, lots of new green leaves. You know, instead of having Fig Get-Together 2 later this Spring, maybe all of you should form up at Bass's house, pack all of your stuff into a Conestoga wagon, and all head west together.

Uncovered all mine 4 weeks ago.  Weather hit 75 today, Spring is definately here.  Just finished putting 30 of my 5gal trees out from the garage, left 40 little guys inside....ran out of time.  Started clearig out my GH, ran out of time and got hungry.  The weather here is suppose to be 60s in day and 40s at night for the next 10 days.  I've got 30 or 40 to plant in the ground this week.

Jon,

I have a greenhouse set up with a climate better than San Diego. I just ate my first breba fig yesterday. Why don't you sell your house and buy 10 houses in Pennsylvania with the money you get for your house. :-)

Bass. I just dug up two of my trees that I had buried in the ground. Haikel & Blue Celeste. Suprisingly, they look very good. Branch tips/buds all look good. They both look to have some tiny brebas forming as well.

I'm suprised they look as good as they do because the ground has been very wet. The leaves they were covered in were all soaking wet & matted down. No mold though.

But, so far so good. Got about a dozen more to dig up. Hope they look as good as the first two did.

Bass ,
What variety was the breba you ate and how was it ?

I had a ripe breba fig from a Brooklyn White. It wasn't the same quality as the ones that had enough sun and heat ofcourse, but was stillgood enough to eat.

I just uncovered my tree and it seems to be in good order, I planted it late in the season, around august and it got too much nitrogen in the form of blood meal,  I know I shouldn't have put it in that time of year, and the tips about 4 inches down seem to be soft and spongy but the rest looks very healthy.  I'm Zone 6 B Canadian standards.
