i have been really busy with things. devorce, work, trying to go back to school, run a small biz and be a dad. but i still try to get on and say hi when i can. i agree watching the new growth explode is fun indeed. a few purchesed cuttings and help from many great and giving members have made my collection more than double. there are so many figs i have only read about that i now have trees growing. VdB, RdB, MvsB, osbourn proliffic. just to name a few. the more i read and research the more i want. looking forward to getting a Kathleens Black going along with loung D' aout, Norland, nor De corumb. and a few others. i know some will have to potted in my zone 6 location but am planning on doing most inground with protection as need be. while expanding my collection i am also doing hardiness test which the findings i hope will help bring fig popularity up here. i am the only person in my county that grows figs. most i have talked to dont even know there are more than one kind of fig, let alone cold hardy ones. thats what i am hoping to change.
dont have any figs as of yet but looking at my hardy chicago i think it will be oaded this year even after the massive prunning i did over winter. i cant wait.
