I change this season to little heavier stuff , i bought 3cubic compressed bale of Canadien Gold peat , organic humus, organic compost /cow manure blend , lime and perlite.
Its not that i favor organic or anything but that stuff was on sale.  ; )

Mixed a little of this and little of that in tractor cart and used that.
The organic humus was 1.99  per 40 pound bag.
The organic compost /manure blend .99 per 40 pound bag.

Them rotten no goods raised the price of the bales of peat though it was about 10 bucks unless last season the bale was smaller i forget.

Whatever the cost, it sure looks like like it's working fine. Those are nice, fat roots!
