Todays high will be 28f

Then reaching 40f tomorrow and for few days after.

Does not sound good Martin. You weather always moves toward us in Connecticut.

Martin, is your garage attached or a stand alone?

Bob

Hi Martin,

We'll be back close to 70F by Tuesday.  I'll remove my temporary fig shelters from over the trees tomorrow.

One of those "Tropical Heatwaves" like in the movie Grumpy Old Men with Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau.

Hey Martin. Looks like we're running about 10 degrees warmer "way down here" in KY. It was about 25F this morning for us. But 50+ by Monday. Time to break out the shorts again :) !

They are ok in there at 25 deg? It is still early winter, what is the temp going to be in a month or two?

We have been having a cold wave, 65F days and 42F nights for about a week. Most trees have finally begun to consider dormancy.

All my trees are waking up and there is no freezing temps in the forcast hopefully it will cool down soon I have people waiting for cuttings :(

Just read they are predicting a cold 2012 for Southern California.

Near I-15 and I-10 to narrow it down.

We are happy with it. It will help the cellar temperature go down below 10C and help keep dormancy. The cellar never goes down below 7C (45F) even when it is -25C (-13F) outside since one foundation wall is attached to the house (and it is not big enough NOW).

Edit: Actually it went down to 17F.

Bob

Your fig trees are spoiled rotten, here they would be taught to sleep and not take naps in my garage.

Wow, that makes me feel better. Do you keep small 1 or 2 year old trees in there to? I have an old concrete wall and wood roof detached garage. It gets cold in there. This is the first year I am storing figs and monitoring the temp in there. I do know the concrete keeps the cold. I do have a basement option, but that might not get cold enough....

No one years olds go elsewhere as i lost some in past. Some two year olds get bedsheet thrown over them and carboard sleeved and some do not it depends on how the plant looks to me beforhand.

Sorry for do many questions... But how do you store your one year olds and what are you looking for to decide if the two year plants are ok without special treatment?

In attic-1st season plants.
Overall thickness of main and limbs and size of plant.

Thanks, I guess I will keep an eye on the temps in the garage. If it gets to cold I will move the smaller plants to a warmer spot.
