Hedge question

I have one hedge going great with 3 MvsB, 1 Sal's G, 1 RdB, and 1 Hardy Chicago.

the back hedge does get a few hits of shade through the day but still gets alot of sun (just not all at once. i am planning on putting Norland, Black Bethlehem back there. will these do good getting a little shade? what else could you recomend that would do good there? my Large hardy chicago gets a little more shade than these figs will. and the HC is doing great.

Nobody knows?

i'm still thinking putting the figs in the ground here is a good idea or not. my wife says i could it i want to.. but i'm thinking if it rains like this for next few yrs, i'll get lousy crops yr after yr.. and i don't mind sharing my figs with birds, but other human that does not ask permission before taking them.. i don't know.

Dave, what I took from a recent thread on which varieties do well in the shade is...
- Late ripening varieties will probably not do as well in partial shade as early/mid-season ripening varieties
- Varieties with large fruits will probably not do as well in partial shade as smaller fruited varieties

These are generalizations but I am using these rules of thumb to decide which varieties go where in my yard.  Good luck.

Steve
