Welcome to the forum Trava! We would, well I know I would, love to see any photos of your plants, ripe fruit in its whole form, and in half.  Descriptions of the fruit is always welcome too.  Do you have a favorite of all the plants that you own??

welcome to the forum, Trava! Like Sara, I would love to learn about fig culture in Croatia.

Welcome,  What type of climate do you have?  I was trying to forget about olive trees.  Now I'm thinking about trying to grow them again.  For some reason I always think of Croatia being in Northern Europe but I see you have a long coast on the Adriatic too.

Welcome to the forum Dražen please share some photos of your fig trees and photos of your beautiful country Croatia.Thank you

Trava, welcome. I was just wondering if Trava means grass or lawn in your language. It is slavic language as is my mouthers tounge. So, I was interested to know if it means the same thing.

Karla

Hello Karla, yes,it mens grass,my last name is Travica,it means litlle grass,I am big and I am Trava. From where is yours mother?
trava

Hi Trava,

I used the term mothers tounge as a first language. My mother and I were both born in Czechoslovakia.
My grand-grandfather had a fig tree there (it is kind of cold there, but he made it work) I guess that is where my interest in figs had started.

Karla

Welcome Trava you will enjoy this forum. are you near Split Croatia?
 Have a great day
     Paul

Thank you Paul,I allready enjoy in this forum, many posts, big traffic is here,I like it.Zadar is 150 km NW from Split.
Karla, you are chech or slovak?Slovakian is more similar to croatian, for me is hardly understand chech language. My grand father and grand-grand father are planting olives, and possible figs too,so I think that my interest have the roots in them.God give them forever peace.

Hi Trava,

I thought Slovakian is closer to your language. I am Czech thought. As you can see from your name there are some simmilarites.

Karla

Your town is more in south then my,but you have much colder winter, you have figs in ground or in the pots, wich sorts of figs you have, some friends of inland Croatia are interested for cold hardy sorts.
