Hello everyone

Just wanted to thank everyone here for their contributions.  This is my first year taking an interest in figs and have learned alot reading the conversations posted here.  You have got me all excited about figs and I haven't ever tasted one but I have a good friend that thinks they are the best thing he has ever eaten.  Sometimes I think I shouldn't come to this forum because I'll get addicted to figs like the rest of you but it probably too late because figs have "got a holt of me" already.  Anyway, thank you all all the polite conversation.

MM, welcome, welcome welcome! Go to a greenhouse, a nursery, a big box store near your location and buy urself ANY kind of fig tree that they have at an affordable price and ENJOY it. You will get even more addicted watching and caring for your new family member. All the best with your figs.

Welcome

Welcome!

Welcome!  You'll get better advice by telling us where you are.  Most people (except possibly those in the SE US) will tell you to avoid a brown turkey.  If you live in Europe or the middle East you have access to some amazing varieties.

Welcome to the forum!

Welcome! Come on, hop in, the figs are soooo fine!

I live central oklahoma which has been in drought for the last 3 years.  I purchased a several figs already Celeste, Kadota and hardy Chicago.  I have bent the figs over so they are growing horizontally.  We have late frosts most years that kill the blooms on my peaches and pear trees and sometimes even get the apples so I want to be able to cover the figs easily.
