Welcome!

Welcome, thanks for sharing your story and pictures. Those giant figs remind me of mangos.

Hi gpapa693,
Welcome to the forum !
Nice figs and good growing !

Thank you for all the warm welcomes.
eboone- you had me cracking up with your advice.

I will try to answer as many questions as i can.
I am not currently growing those giant figs. The tree those figs came from is in Italy, near La Spezia. They tasted great, very sweet. As for the variety, he knows of 2 varieties, green and purple. Unfortunately my relatives in italy who tired to grow cuttings from that tree were unable to produce figs as large as his, but they were still delicious. I will be asking my stateside relatives if they have clones of that tree. I don't know yet if my grandmother's tree is the same one.

I will update everyone when i have more answers.

As far as trades- as of right now i dont have that big fig. I only have chicago hardy and a bunch of an unknown variety from italy. I will probably be asking for help to ID it when it has leaves and fruit.

Thanks again
-Mike

You can always get a care package from Italy. While your at it, have them send you some Brioschi, the stuff is like gold these days.
