Welcome to the forum.
If you're going to plant the containers in the ground, you should plug the bottom holes, and put holes in the sides instead. It makes taking them out a lot easier. When its time to take them out, go around the outside of the pot with a spade and it will pull right out without any roots coming out of the bottom of the pot.
