Hello from New Zealand

I would like to introduce my self and thank each and every one off you for all the great info that is available on this amazing forum... I came across this forum about two months ago when I started looking for info on the net about transplanting my five year old fig (Mrs Williams) I was really surprised to find this wonderful place and of course after reading all off the postings I found all my answers. Been collecting figs For About six years all tho not as extreme as you guys, got 18 known variates and about 15 unknown that I found growing in peoples yards around the town, all my figs are in pots but one, which I plan to pot up as well as we are in process of selling this property... Ripening figs here its a bit of a challenge thanks to lots of rain we get and are mild summer that is why I haw been grooving in pots which gives me a bit more control. Once again I would like to thank all of you for the good work you do and keep adding knowledge to this wonderful forum, I cant believe I hadn't ran in to you guys earlier but I guess better late than newer...

Dan

Dan,
Let me be one of the first to welcome you!  You introduced yourself, and that is wonderful!  You will make a lot of friends here!

Welcome

@Dan, Welcome to the forum.

Auckland growing zone would be much similar to Vancouver, Canada. I used to live in Hamilton
and Palmerston N. An excellent variant to try would be Desert King. Osborne Prolific and Latarrula
should work too. Love my brown trout fishing there.

NZFig < Dan>
warm welcome to the forum .

NZ welcome to the forum. I like the way you started on the right foot so to speak, with a nice intro. Looking forward to how you grow fig trees in NZ.

Wow guys truly a worm welcome from all of you... Thank you so much!
The varieties I grow here all wore sourced locally under these names:Black Mission, Brown Turkey, Omapere, Ventura, White Adriatic, Brunswic, Cape White, Crnica, Grosse Longue Verte, Robyn, Rouge De Bordeaux, Vlasshof, Mrs Williams, Brunoro Black, Misa, Panachee, Malta Type 1. Now I know what fig names are like so they may not match up with yours but this is what they are named over here, Including these I have number of unknowns...

Welcome Dan !

Hello Dan,
Welcome to the forum community.

Do you fly fish?  My JD loves to fly fish in New Zealand!

Thanks guys on all the welcomes!
Hey Suzi no I don't fly fish, not in to fresh water fishing, all tho salt water fly fishing is becoming quite popular here... Is JD fishing fresh water? I soft bait, mechanical jig, sped jig, stick bait and do some popping now and then its all lure fishing NO BAIT!
