Hello - new here

I just want to say hello to everyone.  I am new here and I love figs as you all do and I hope
to learn more about these plants.  I got started when I took cuttings from my grandfather's
fig tree and have a beautiful tree now.  I also have other smaller trees.

Hi Valerie and welcome. How wonderful to have a tree that came from your Grandfather's tree ! Love to see some pics of them . Hope you have a great growing season.

Hello Valerie, welcome to the forum.

Hello Valerie,

That's very special you have your grandmother's fig.
I'm rather new here since March.  Please Let us know what zone you're in. This Spring I started a lot of cuttings and have some to share.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome.
Soni - I am in 6b (I think).  New York.
When I figure out how to post pictures I will put a picture of the
fig tree (brown turkey) that I started from my grandparent's.
I get around 150 figs on it each year.

Valerie,
Welcome to the forum!

For picture post you need a relatively small image. In pixels, about 900x600. The photo straight from your camera would be too large.
Please use a suitable program on your computer to resize your photo first.

When you are ready, click on the "More reply options" button and then the icon with a tree (Insert Image) above your window you are typing the message in, this will prompt you for your photo location. Select it and you are done!

Welcome Valerie! You came to the right place for fig knowledge! There is a ton of info here on figs! You can spend hours searching and read all the past post. Get ready for fig bug to bite!

Cheers!

Welcome Valerie, you're gonna love it on here.
