All my trees that i started out in cups are not looking good.  Can you tell me what is happening?  Should i be watering these every day?  They were in the ground for 1 week and started to do this.

I had one that I lost that looked like yours.  I had sat it on the porch and I think it got more sun than it could handle.  Maybe that's what happened to yours.

I also had two new cuttings that had just started to send out some green growth.  I was thinking that since the leaves were so small the sun couldn't hurt them.  I was wrong.

did you acclimate them to the outside slowly? they could be in shock 

No i just planted them didn't know i should acclimate them.  They are in full sun.  I have 8 of them planted and they are all doing this. Thought they would like full sun.

try and get a little shade over them, not sure if you have access to shade netting like this http://www.greenhousemegastore.com/category/shade-material

if the leaves totally fried off, and it has a good root system, it could bounce back and push out new growth that wont need the shade, but they do need transitioning to outside full sun when rooting them inside. 

There's your problem!  You can't put newly rooted cuttings in full sun.  They must be shaded for a few weeks.  The sun is extremely powerful and depending on your root ball, your cutting may be ok.  Time will tell though. its a hard lesson to learn!  Read up on Jon's thread on propagating cuttings.

At this point the damage is done.  They will probably come back fine if it was just sunburn.  Was the root system well developed?  In my opinion the roots are much more important than the leaves on new cuttings.  In other words, I'd rather have a cutting with strong roots and cut off all the leaves than have a cutting with nice leaves but a week root system.

At this point I would leave them where they are if they have strong roots.  Any leaves that form at this point will naturally acclimate to full sunlight.

The root system was awesome before i planted them.   Next time i will make sure that i put them in the shade for a couple of weeks before i plant them. Thanks for the help. i will read John's thread.

But yes I agree with all others, just like any seedling you need to harden them off before going directly in the sun.

I agree with Rob, the roots are in trouble. They were fine for a week, sunburn from UV light would be showing already, the roots were adequate but are not taking up water anymore for some reason. Maybe the root ball is dried out or maybe the roots or base of the cuttings have rotted. I'd dig one and see, but that is me, I like to know for sure to avoid the same problem.

you have SIFD   (sudden infant fig death)  there are many others with the same issue on the forum.  I lost most of one variety last year (my first year with cuttings)   also this year same variety and an another,  but the 7 other kinds side by sides did well.  It seems to occur a few days after they are watered, maybe root rot

Walked outside and looked at one and there are slugs on some of them will that hurt them?

They will munch leaves a little but it is not usually bad. Did they perk up at all since the sun went down?
