Thanks for the added info Jon. When talking to my friend I asked him if it was on old wood or newer green wood. He is not familiar with figs but he said it looked like it might be on the older wood. He also said it was quite a large tree, perhaps 12 foot tall and 15 foot across. He took some cuttings off of it and is sending them to me. I hope I can get those started but since they are already broke dormancy I don't know what kind of challenge that will be. Weather I do or not, I received a rooted cutting from our friend Rafed in the mail yesterday. Either way I should have a growing tree soon.
Jon by the way, when does your figs start to ripen in CA. I'll be there at the end of June, is there any chance that some will be ripening at that time. I'd sure like to see many different ones in all there glory.
