Danny,

Are those leaves from the same tree? Are those main crop or breba figs? Was that fig completely ripe?

Don't know, found tree, got cuttings, yes leaves not only from same tree but from same cutting (small limb) Figs were nice color but hard, not close to being ripe.

Thx

Is the tree old? Which, if any, was the dominant leaf shape?

Oh, yeah...what size is that fig? You did not answer about whether is it was a breba or main crop fruit. Did you take a picture of the cutting you took? Maybe we can figure that out.

Sorry, should have put reference for size in pict.  I would say fig size was 1 inch at widest and 1.5 inch long.  I have cutting in water, will take pict tomorrow.  I will also see which leaf is most prevalent on limb.

Tree was 15-18 feet tall with multiple trunks 6-8 inches in caliber.  I was somewhat surprised that figs were so hard (not ripe?) with such a nice deep color.  Having never seen this tree I do not know if it is main crop or not.

I am a newbie to this and finding something other than a BT or Texas Ever Bearing is really fun.  I have cuttings fro 16 different trees and am trying to learn ID of all.  I intend to reduce inventory upon ID, makes great gift.  East Texans love their fig trees.

Looks very similar to my Brown Turkey.

Interesting, Danny. The additional pics will help. The fig in the pic does not look fully ripe. Is the tree being maintained by anyone? How many trunks does it have?

Hi Danny,

See what you can do with photos!

Good job, good luck.

Went back by tree today.  Has 4 or 5 trunks, not maintained at all, right up against a rent house.  The majority of the figs are on new growth.  There are some that has ripened but those are on the old growth.

Thx
