Thanks for all the replies everyone. Lots of good info to dig into. I'm really just happy that Brown Turk** has been ruled out! I'll look into air layering and see if I can get that going. So if I do an air layer, one the roots grow, you chop off the branch below the air layer and plant? Thanks!
I wish I could answer everyone questions but I just don't know. This is my first experience with figs(besides newtons :) ). My palette isn't experienced enough to describe the fig taste, however they are sweet. But I have nothing to compare too. Also I just moved in to this house so I haven't observed the tree long enough to learn anything really.
My UCD Celeste has pulp that red from what I remember but I didn't take pictures to compare, looks like a Celeste to me.
That fig is a Celeste that was sold by Home Depot here in the south Jersey.Very good grower but unproductive and will drop the first part of the main crop,and in doing do ,will frustrate you,every end of June.
