Help ! Rooting advise needed

Hi,
I have been rooting this cutting in water for the past 3 weeks and changed water daily. Only 2 days ago, I noticed the water turned smelly. Argh...sign of rotting !
May I know if this cutting is still viable ? How to save it ? What shall I do next ?
The green tip on the cutting are drying up slowly

I'm not an expert on the matter but I will give you my .02 since nobody else has... Its gotten too much water at the base and not enough humidity up top. I'd put it in a perlite filled cup inside a sealed bag. This will help keep the moisture up. Just don't put too much water in it. If you can see condensation all the way to the bottom then that's good. Hopefully its not too late. Good Luck!

I would put in a moisture control mix and cover (especially the part that was exposed to extreme moisture) in a self watering container. Plant it sideways to maximize contact with soil and cover with a transparent plastic container to trap moisture. Add water from bottom of container only.
If it has any vitality left, it might come back. Unfortunately your photo shows that most of it is too dry. Good luck.

You xant expect fresh green leaves too stay alive when water rooting. All leaves must be pulled of cuttings then water root it. That bwing said. Its ready to ve put in media. Its has initials.
I take it that those dried up leaves where left on cutting Pryor to rooting it . Correct?

See where the bark has wrinkled that means the cambians rotted and dead leaving that wrinkled skin look, that means that area cannot be salvaged. I would cut it and then pot your single node into a slightly premoistened loose soil. Cover it with bag or saran wrap and there maybe a chance to salvage the single node. You have great root initials but the question is if the leaf bud will break on a single node. I've encountered this problem with the single node cuttings. Even though you get great roots there isn't enough nodes for the leaves to grow from.

Good luck

What variety is this BTW?

Previously, the leaves are green and I was told to leave 2 cut leaves at the tip.

Based on what you have stated, I guess there's no much hope on this cutting. By the way, this is celestial.

Dont worry, I have had MANY of these one nodes. They can root. I am no expert. However, i found that when they get this small, what worked best for me is putting them in soil. In fact, i submerged my one nodes into the soil completely.

Someone recommended a moisture/Ph/light meter and I bought one for $10 on Amazon....great advice!

Good luck!

Thank you. At least yours is a success case. I will have to pin my hope.
