I have an unknown that has red buds.  I have never seen this.  The bark is smooth and has a reddish color to it as opposed to the grey I am used to seeing around here.  The fig is a nice purple smallish fig that ripens real late.  The fig shown was not even close to being ripe.  The fig looks like a Celeste but the leaves and the red tips and bark threw me.  I apologize for the bad picts.

It looks unique to me. Kind of like a Brown Turkey but the leaf looks fancier and the eye is so small. 

i took some cuttings today from un named trees and the buds were red there too. is there a connections between bud color and the color of the figS????????????

Were did you get it from ? Is it supposed to be of European or Middle-east origin ?
Needs the wasp or not ?
One crop /  two crops ?
It is surprising to me to see red buds but clear stalk on the leaf.
Did you compare it to cdd ?

remind me some what of Kathleen's Black or related type. not CdD.. i think the leaf shape is wrong and the fig does not have a long neck. 

Never got an ID, still a mystery, good fig, it is a keeper for me.  I don't have a clue where it came from other than beside a rent house in an older part of town.
