Here's my final draft buy list for Zone 7B in ground.  I need to cut the list down by one or two.  Are Takoma Violet and MBvs too similar to get both?

Teramo, Chicago Hardy; RdB, Malta Black, Adriatic JH, Takoma Violet, MBvs.

I will keep Chicago Hardy on buy list because it's an old standby and need help to choose one more from Malta Black, Takoma Violet, MBvs.  Anyone feel free to comment please.  


(I like intense complex taste, but not pure sugar bombs, if that helps make the decision.)

From your list, if you are going to have a limited number of figs, you want some variety.  You should definitely get RdB - very good fig and one of the earliest.  You should also get an Adriatic(JH) or a similar green 'Adriatic berry' flavor fig(like Strawberry Verte or Battaglia Green or others).  The Malta Black, MBvs, Takoma Violet are extremely similar - they are very good but very much like the Chicago Hardy - for me in containers the past 2 years I liked the Malta Black just a bit better than the others but some figs were indistinguishable, and all are a good choice.  Cannot comment on the Teramo.
