Help with selecting a proper fig tree

Need a suggestion on a fig verity that does well on the east side of a house were it would get morning sun only and will be shaded by the house from about 1PM on.  It would be placed in well drained soil and watering would be no problem.  Total direct sun per day could be 6 hours then shade for the rest of the day.  Thanks...

I have been told that Marseilles Black VS.will produce good quality figs with 6ish hours of sun a day,,,

Cool.  I have two of them in pots right now.  I will research that further.  Thanks

My hardy chicago gets morning sun. And is shaded by other trees the rest of the day and it does great. I just planted another one in full sun this year to see if there is a differance.

Now I would not have though that a Chicago Hardy would do that well in shade.  I guess I still have a lot to learn.  Thanks...

My Negronne doesn't like a full 8+ hrs of sun either - leaves tend to wilt ( and doesn't need water). Mine are grown in pots . They are now happier in an area that gets a bit less sun and are showing lots of baby figs.

How big does the Negronne get?  Does it form up more like a bush or more like a tree?

If I remember correctly they are not a big tree - mine are small tree types not like a bush.
From Jon's varietal info page :

VIOLETTE DE BORDEAUX
SYN: BORDEAUXBEER'S BLACK,NEGRONNE (003), PETITE FIGUE VIOLETTE
DESCRIPTION

Skin and flesh colors: Purple-black; strawberry Widely adapted. Small fig with excellent flavor. Small tree adapts well to containers. (022)
SKIN COLOR: PURPLE / BLACK
FLESH COLOR: STRAWBERRY
BREBA CROP: YES

I have Violette de Bordeaux, Petite Negri and Natalina in morning sun only after they objected strongly to afternoon sun. Petite Negri is a smaller tree and great for container growing. So far they are my only varities that get really upset with afternoon sun.

my VdB is trained to be a tree.. not that i looks like a tree. it put out lot of suckers. i have to remove them about every month. mine also has wilted look when sun is too hot, but with little bit of water, it will  perk up right away. i leave mine in full sun.
