Here is something for you weathy fig growers!to ponder

1502 Sportsman Incubator
This upgraded version of the No. 1502 “SPORTSMAN” incubator now offers an accurate digital thermostat with LCD display of Temperature and Humidity. An on-board computer monitors systems and the environment every second to keep itself updated and to share this data with you. Electronic egg turning control, audio/visual indicators and a standard easy view door highlight a number of new features. The No. 1502 “SPORTSMAN” is a complete incubator and hatcher. In addition to having three automatically turned racks, it has a hatching tray in the bottom of the incubator. So if you are just getting started with a small flock, all you need is this one incubator. Set the eggs each week or so and then hatch the oldest setting eggs at the same time. Settings are rotated among the three turning trays so that the hatching tray can accept the eggs from one of the setting trays each cycle. 110 Volt AC 225 Watts This incubator includes:

  • 1 #3258 Digital Command Center thermostat
  • 1 alternate #3122 wafer thermostat
  • 3 turning racks & 1 plastic hatching tray (no cover)
  • 1 moisture pan with 2 wick pads
  • Samples of paper egg trays for quail, chicken/duck (1 each)
  • Instruction booklet

Total Capacity with plastic trays (sold separately on page 4): 1368 Quail Eggs (set and hatch 250 per week) or 216 larger eggs, such as duck, etc. Each turning rack holds approximately 496 Quail Eggs, or 118 Chukar or Pheasant, or 90 small Chicken Eggs, or 40 Goose Eggs (not over 33/4” overall height), or 60 Duck Eggs. Hey... I have one of those and I am most certainly not wealthy, rich or even comfortable. Very much one of the working poor.
So do tell, how shall I use my 'bator with figs. Drying?
    Brian

I think the termp and humidity control might be geared toward rooting.

Anyone ever converted an old fridge or dishwasher as an incubator  for fig cuttings? I am thinking of using an old abandoned fridge as one. Have to talk to the heating guy on thermostat control.

Ard, I wish I could help ya with your fig drying, can't help ya?

Jon, propagating the cuttings was what I was thinking about, you can set the air exchange & temp + humidity.......I think YOU should spring for one
