Herman's Unknown

Herman said he doesn't have a tree named after him this one is and it will stay as Herman's Unknown till someone can tell me otherwise
This cutting was sent to me in January of 2010 from a vary generous member of this forum with this label on it and its the only cutting out of the three that survived, its now a nice three footer and it put out a couple of main crop figs

Looks a lot like a Celeste variant to me.

I am Herman2:Yes I recognize the tree:I bought it in Lowe's Hardware as Celeste but is twice the size of Celeste ,and it has a more open eye.
Not bad for drier climates but here in my location,it was souring bad so I discarded it.
This fig goes by the name "Megaceleste, for the large size it is.
I have no doubt it is a hybrid ovf Celeste with huge leaves.
I can see is doing very well in your garden, because the climate must be much better than in mine.

Thank you Herman for the information
I'm glad to know that it is no longer an unknown and not just a Celest
But a Megacelest that is an impressive name
it did vary well for me the fruit is vary good i can really describe it right now it was sweet and good tasting not the least bit sour

Thanks again Herman have a great day

Mario
