Hi Beukelman

Hello Beukelman,
welcome .
I was looking at your profile and was curious what kind of figs you grow and in what zone.

Martin, I think he has other interest than figs. Of course I have no such experiences to verify that with.

It is not for Seniors....... (I may be wrong because there could be many swinging seniors).

That is too funny!!!!!!!

We are gaining several new members each day, and it seems there is an exploding interest in figs in Russia and Ukraine unparalleled in modern history. Yes, some of these new members do have less than traditional occupations, interests and hobbies. You are certainly right and gracious to welcome them, even as they are added to the "ban" list.

Well i was peeking at persons profile and saw location as Black Diamond ( which is located in state of WASHINTON) as for occupation listed  i leave that alone. So i was curious as to what types of figs this person grows.

You members have a good sense of humor by the way that i enjoy.

Is this a bad time to mention my side job?  ;)

Well, I'm feeling a little like I missed something ( maybe not :-/ )! Didn't catch that new members profile before it mysteriously disappeared.

Yeah Jason, just when we were starting to feel comfortable enough to start opening up with folks!!  Ah well..... ;-} .

Hi Bill ,
its still there , i always said to each his own . Just long as nobody tries to force things on another.
Now about side jobs and opening up  - i do enjoy good reading.  ; )

My figs are doing well in storage so far but they do need a watering with some more snow coming Sunday i will give em a drink an unflavored snow cone on top of the containers.

Okay, occupation aside, did we even give Beukelman a chance to talk about what kind of figs he/she grows? Or is that a moot point?

Sorry to dissapoint Martin but I'm not going to elaborate for fear of someone taking me seriously :-}. I've had a good laugh but we might do well to get back on track.

I'm going to pull my small potted figs out from under my house & put them in the attic in the next couple days. I put a thermometer under the house & the temp is staying at about 45F even on the coldest days! I'm thinking that might be a bit too warm to keep them dormant - ? Also need to check them for moisture.

I'm also going to build a 4' X 8' X 3' (approx) cold frame very soon - hopefully by the end of the month. That should be large enough to put all my little pots in plus plenty of room to grow some greens through the winter :-) .

I purchased a couple of those thermostatically controlled outlets. They were mentioned elsewhere here on the forum. The ones I ordered come on at 35F & go off at 45F. Planning to use that on a small heater in the CF. If they begin to leaf out then, no problem, since they'll have plenty of natural sunlight. Not worried about these holding fruit yet - just want them to grow some more first.

I'll start a thread & post pics when I get the cold frame done.

Hey Bill,
i doubt if person will speak i could be wrong though.

On another note Welcome Deluca what type of figs do you grow?
Here we go again.  ; )

What better place to phish for business than on a busy forum I suppose.

Jon, if you continue to keep a forum free from smut of that sort, I'll be proud to continue to support it dude! You might not be able to keep 'em from signing up but you, obviously, don't let them hang around for very long.
(Sorry for getting a little "political").

Still like to know what kind of figs they grow though ;) ????
