Hi. I'm new to figs and would love some help identifying this one. I got hooked after trying it at a friend's house here in Maryland (7a) and took a cutting. lukeott was kind enough to give me input on gardenweb but suggested I get other opinions. I've also read Ray Givan's booklet. Could it be Green Ischia?
The in-ground 2-year-old tree has grown vigorously and is now about 10 feet tall. The fruit has been ripening since late September on new growth and is still going. It is sweet and tart and pretty good - though not up to the standard of the parent which was excellent. One of the figs on the tree split wide open after the last rain but there haven't been any other splits. I didn't see a breba crop, unless this late harvest _is_ the breba crop.
Many thanks for any thoughts!
