What an incredibly historic event! We should all take a moment to contemplate the importance of such a finding.
I will tie this topic to figs, so Jon won't threaten to expel me from the forum.
Here goes....
Thanks to the Higgs boson, I now understand why my tiny cuttings of Vista Mission and Atreano in 6 short months have grown to over 6 feet x 4 feet.
You see, all matter has mass. Yet the particles are apparently massless so how do they gain mass? The theory is that mass is derived from the just confirmed particle - the Higgs boson.
The Higgs boson within the Higgs Field causes particles to gain mass. Ergo, my rooted cuttings grew like weeds.
Now if they could only discover the Black Madeira boson, all would be good.
